In March 2026, Reliance Retail acquired Pahadi Local from Pahadi Local Goodness Private Limited, bringing a Himalayan-inspired beauty brand into its portfolio. Operating on $809K raised across 3 rounds from 4 investors, Pahadi Local scaled to ₹1.56 crore revenue (FY25) with 27 SKUs, serving customers through 44 stores in 24 cities and 6 e-commerce platforms, supported by 309 employees (up 86% YoY). What makes Pahadi Local distinctive: community-driven supply chain working with women-led self-help groups across Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh through Pahadi Empower initiatives, creating livelihoods while sourcing ingredients directly from Himalayan communities. For Reliance Retail (19,979 stores, 1 billion+ customer transactions annually across 7,000+ towns), the acquisition reflects a broader strategy: identify high-authenticity niche brands early and scale through national omnichannel infrastructure.
